ITC is a consulting firm providing coaching, guidance and feedback for individuals who are pursuing a career in on-air broadcasting.
It was started by Peter Johanns and Jack Powers, tenured professors of Television-Radio at the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College.
What we do:
Over the years we have helped hundreds of students develop their on-air skills. Our former students work in all aspects of on-air broadcasting in markets across the country.
Our services are focused on people in entry-level positions who are looking to improve their on-air skills for that next job. We can also help current students get their first job.
We offer coaching in news, sports, weather, and other on-air positions for TV, radio and digital.
Many talent coaching companies are more concerned with establishing consulting agreements with stations or ownership groups.
Often, station consultants are more concerned with overall station improvement rather than individual development.

Peter Johanns Bio:
Prior to Ithaca College, Peter worked as a television on-air personality for over a decade, including as a news reporter for a network affiliate, an anchor for nationally distributed public television programming and documentaries, a live TV host, and a voice-over artist. He's been teaching TV broadcasting at Ithaca College since 2001 and currently serves at the Program Director for the Television-Radio major. He holds a Master's degree in Television-Radio-Film from the Newhouse School at Syracuse University.
Jack Powers Bio:
Jack has been teaching Television and Radio students for almost 20 years. In addition to earning a Master's degree in Journalism from Ohio State University, he holds a PhD from the Newhouse School at Syracuse University. He's been teaching at Ithaca College since 2006 and currently serves as the Chair of the Media Arts, Sciences & Studies Department. He incorporates the latest research about what works and what doesn't for on-air talent so that they can improve their chances of landing that ever-important first job, or jump to a bigger market.

What's the cost?-
For $250 you will receive:
- An analysis of on-air material that you provide (maximum of 15 minutes)
- 30-minute video chat session with ITC including specific examples of areas for improvement
- Written assessment report of your performance attributes including:
- aesthetic appearance
- voice quality
- ability to relate to audience
- writing
- editing
